【 作品への思い 】

友人と旅をする中で、これまで見たことのなかった日本の風景に出会いました。その感動を、一枚の絵に閉じ込めたい。そう思い、筆を執りました。

この作品の舞台は、私の学生時代を過ごした街、東京です。当時は、東京の街を深く知る機会がなく、その多様な表情に気づくことはありませんでした。

しかし、時を経て友人が東京を訪れた際、共に街を歩く中で、初めて見る景色に出会いました。それは、何気ない路地の片隅や、見慣れたはずの場所の意外な表情。その一つひとつが、私に東京の新たな美しさ、そして魅力を教えてくれました。この絵は、そんな発見と感動の記憶をたどるように描いたものです。

While traveling with my friend, I saw corners of Japan that I’ve never seen before. I wanted to capture the beauty that I saw in a piece of artwork.

The city depicted Tokyo. I spent most of my pre-teen years here, though I didn’t go out to see the city much. Years passed, and when my friend travelled over, we explored the city together. I saw so many corners of Tokyo I have never seen before, and it gave me a new perspective on the city and how beautiful it can be.
