【 作品への思い 】

"Tears Returned" draws on the imagery of Lin Daiyu burying fallen flowers in Dream of 

the Red Chamber, reimagining the motif of decay as a ritualized installation.

Monofilament yarn, knitted on a Dubied industrial machine, creates a fabric both 

transparent and fragile, suggesting clarity yet imminent fracture. Petals recorded in 

water and soil were transformed into prints, later veiled with wax tears. Discarded 

frames replace mirrors with woven and wax-bound surfaces, evoking structures of 

binding and suspension.

Candle traces and dim light reinforce a stage-like atmosphere, positioning viewers 

within an unfinished rite.The work reflects on how dignity and purity may be 

sustained in the face of inevitable rupture and disappearance.

《Tears Returned》は、『紅楼夢』における林黛玉の「落花を葬る」イメージに着想を得ており、「朽ちゆくもの」を儀式的なインスタレーションとして再構成している。

モノフィラメント糸を用い、ドビー織機で編まれた布は、透明でありながら脆さを併せ持ち、明晰さと同時に内在する亀裂の予兆を示唆する。水や土の中で記録された花弁はプリントへと転写され、その後ワックスによる涙によって覆い隠される。廃棄されたフレームは鏡へと置き換えられ、蝋と結合した表面とともに、結びつきや宙吊りの構造を想起させる。

キャンドルの痕跡とほの暗い光は舞台的な雰囲気を強め、鑑賞者を未完の儀式の中へと位置づける。本作は、避けることのできない断絶と消失に直面しながらも、尊厳や純粋さがいかに保たれ得るのかを問いかけている。
